A Wyre Forest charity is set to launch a new event across Bewdley and the River Severn this October.
‘Plod and a Pint” is an eight-mile sponsored walking event taking place on Saturday, October 7 to help raise vital funds for KEMP hospice’s free care and support services.
KEMP Hospice community fundraiser Vicki Wootton-Champion said: “This is a brand-new event for KEMP Hospice and it’s wonderful that we can team up with such a prominent local organisation as Bewdley Brewery.
“We have some stunning scenery on our doorstep in the Wyre Forest and following the huge success of our summer canal walk in Kidderminster, we wanted to offer an opportunity for our supporters to explore more of the beauty of our local area.”
The event will start at Bewdley Brewery where walkers will take the river and rail trail upstream to Upper Arley before heading back to the brewery where visitors can enjoy a pint of the local ale or a soft drink on their return.
There will also be an Oktoberfest celebration at the brewery on the same day with additional drinks and street food available.
Ms Wootton-Champion added: “We never charge for our care and support services, so we’re incredibly grateful to all the supporters who take part in our events and raise vital funds to support KEMP Hospice.
“We hope everyone can enjoy a wonderful day while doing something amazing for their local Hospice charity.”
