A DOORBELL camera captured the "terrifying" moment a car was set on fire on a driveway in Kidderminster.
Louise Rose, who lives with her four-year-old son Ethan, has shared her horror after her BMW was set alight outside her Spennells home in the middle of the night.
The 48-year-old, who has only recently moved into the house, said she heard a loud bang which she initially thought was a train derailing, as she lives near a railway line.
However, she then panicked when she saw smoke coming through her son's window and then saw her car was in flames.
Ms Rose described the incident, which happened earlier this month, as "terrifying."
She said: "I'm having trouble sleeping now because I don't know if they are coming back.
"I just don't know why anyone would target a woman who's nearly 50 and her autistic child".
The previous night, the doorbell camera captured a hooded figure walking to her front door and tampering with the device.
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "Police were called to reports of arson on Dunlin Drive in Kidderminster around 1.05am on Friday 15 September.
"The fire, which is believed to have been started deliberately was extinguished by fire service. No one was injured or arrested. Enquiries are ongoing".
A fires service spokesperson said: "Three Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews – two from Wyre Forest and one from Bromsgrove Fire Stations – were called at 00:53 on 15 September to a persons reported fire at Dunlin Drive in Kidderminster.
"The fire involved the passenger compartment of a small vehicle at the front of a property and this was extinguished using a hosereel jet."
