THIS year's Good Beer Guide by CAMRA (Campaign For Real Ale) features a number of pubs in Wyre Forest.

The 2024 beer guide, which features an Iron Maiden-themed cover and a foreword from singer Bruce Dickinson, surveys 4,500 of the best pubs across the UK.

The Wyre Forest branch of CAMRA is represented in this year's edition with more than a dozen local establishments.

Kidderminster pubs to feature include The Bear and Wolf, The King and Castle Bar & Restaurant and The Weavers Real Ale House.

Stourport establishments that have made the guide include The Black Star, The Hollybush and the Brothers of Ale brewery.

The Bewdley Brewery Tap, The Great Western, The Black Boy on Wyre Hill and The Old Waggon and Horses in Wribbenhall have also made the cut.

The Anchor in Caunsall, the Tap House in Hartlebury and The New Inn, Shrawley, are also featured in the book.

In a post on Facebook, Wyre Forest CAMRA congratulated the pubs on being featured in the guide.

It said: "In the GBG (Good Beer Guide), you can find full details (including food offerings; beer gardens, accommodation; transport links; disabled access and facilities for families) for our selected Wyre Forest pubs and 4,500 other pubs and clubs.

"We have a limited number of GBG's available to members only for £12 if they attend the launch event at Brothers of Ale Brewery this Thursday evening (28th Sept).

"Otherwise, buy the GBG from the CAMRA shop for £15.99 (£13.99 CAMRA members) at:https://shop1.camra.org.uk."

CAMRA chairman Nik Antona said: “The last few years have been an incredibly difficult time for the industry, and we need more support than ever before to keep our nation’s pubs and breweries open and thriving.

"I’d encourage everyone to use this year’s Guide to visit the very best pubs and breweries across the UK and support them for generations to come.”
