The team at a Worcestershire attraction are celebrating their success after winning a top honour.

Hartlebury Castle received the ‘Best Told Story’ award from Visit England for its enthusiastic staff and the compelling experience offered to visitors.

The historic attraction offers a fun-filled day out for guests where they can explore sights including Bishop’s Palace and the Worcestershire County Museum before heading outdoors to enjoy the nature walk in the castle grounds.

Worcestershire County Museum manager, Rachel Robinson, said: “We are delighted to receive the ‘Best Told Story’ accolade for Hartlebury Castle.

“This is a fantastic recognition of the hard work carried out by the team and the successful collaboration between Hartlebury Castle Preservation Trust and Museums Worcestershire.”

Along with a new playground, other recent developments include blacksmithing courses in the Victorian forge which allows people to get hands-on with Worcestershire’s history.

The gift shop also received praise from Visit England as it continues to provide a range of stock from local suppliers with staff and volunteers being complimented for their “knowledge and enthusiasm” in customer service.

Visit England Director Andrew Stokes said: “These accolades recognise different aspects of the visitor experience with attractions who really go the extra mile whether it’s offering exceptional food and drink or magical storytelling.”

Director of Hartlebury Castle Preservation Trust, Steve Bagnall, added: “To be awarded the ‘Best Told Story’ accolade is a wonderful achievement for the team.

“Alongside our staff, our amazing volunteers play an essential part in the visitor experience and it is brilliant to be able to share this recognition with them.”
