A Kidderminster recruitment business has received recognition for its commitment to community causes.
Hewett Recruitment has earned its B Corporation (B Corp) certificate from B Lab UK which acknowledges the company's goals outside making profits.
In an exclusive group of less than 50 companies across the Three Counties, Hewett Recruitment had to demonstrate its rigorous social and environmental standards whilst showing its transparency and responsible practices across five key areas.
The criteria included a focus towards governance, workers, community, environment and customers.
Directors and owners of Hewett Recruitment, Laura Hewett and Ben Mannion, said: “We have always felt it very important that Hewett Recruitment supported and gave back to the community around us.
“As business owners our own personal values really echo the sentiment of ‘doing business for good’ so B Corp certification was a natural fit for us.”
A standout moment in the company’s journey towards B Corp certification was its active involvement in the community through school, career events and charitable efforts.
Employees at the company have given a total of 400 hours to voluntary activities with 85% of staff getting involved.
Executive Director of B Lab UK, Chris Turner, said: “Being able to welcome Hewett Recruitment to the B Corp community is hugely exciting.
“Their commitment to doing business differently will be an inspiration to others and really help spread the idea that we can reduce success in business to be as much about people and the planet as it is about profit.”
