A Stourport resident is putting on a Halloween spectacular outside his home in support of the Severn Valley Railway (SVR).
Volunteer guard, shunter and signalman, Nick Wright, is hosting a spooky light show on Malham Road every night between 5pm and 9pm until Tuesday, October 31 to raise vital funds for the Severn Valley Railway.
The money raised, which currently stands at £658 of a £2,000 target, will help maintain steam trains and keep the attraction running for residents.
Mr Wright, who has been volunteering at SVR for 10 years, said: “A steam train can only be in service for 10 years before its boiler needs to be overhauled.
“A locomotive can cost in excess of £250,000 to restore and every donation helps this valuable cause.”
The event, which has synchronised lights and music, started on Tuesday, October 24 and even hosts a sensory show with gentle lights and no music each Sunday between 5pm and 6pm.
There will also be a Christmas light event held from Friday, November 24 until Wednesday, January 31, 2024 from 5pm and 9pm..
The show comes as the Severn Valley Railway is preparing to host its annual ghost train and over 18 scream train events on October 28, 30 and 31.
Passengers will need to prepare for jump scares and hold on tight as the train departs from Kidderminster and roars past haunted stations on the way to the home of the living dead at Arley.
Limited tickets are still available with departure times being found on the SVR website.
