The details for the highly anticipated annual Stourport Christmas parade and light switch on event have been revealed.
Residents are invited to join in the festivities at the Three Kings Parade on Friday, November 24.
The parade will start at 6pm from Raven Street and circle around the town centre streets before briefly stopping at the Villeneuve-le-Roi Gardens and returning to the Civic Centre for the switch on and firework display at 7.20pm.
Stourport Town Council said: “The Three Kings will once again lead the parade, which will assemble at 5.15pm- in the car park behind the Civic Centre.
“In honour of Stourport-on-Severn being awarded Heritage Port Status, the mayor also thought it would be fun to choose ‘SNOWport-on-Severn’ as the theme for this years’ best dressed shop window display competition.
“We look forward to you all joining us to bring a warm sense of community to this annual event.”
There will also be a craft fayre and refreshments in the Civic Hall, live music, an outdoor disco, hot food and drink stalls and pantomime tickets on sale from the Monday Night Group for Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
The town’s Christmas nativity scene will be in York Street this year with shops opening late.
Road closures will be in place between 5.45pn and 7.45pm at New Street, Martins Way, Bridge Street, Raven Street, High Street, Vale Road, Lion Hill, Mitton Street, York Street and Lichfield Street.
This is in addition to the roadworks being carried out on Hartlebury Road which will clash with the event.
Diversions will be in place with residents advised to check the Stourport Town Council Facebook page for updates.
