A KIDDERMINSTER television production company is delighted after being recognised with an award for their latest Channel 4 TV series.
Gosh TV received an award for their show Building Britain’s Superhomes, at the prestigious Royal Television Society Midlands Awards held at The ICC in Birmingham last Friday (November 24).
CEO of Gosh Television, Paul Barnett, was ecstatic about the award.
He said: “I couldn’t be prouder of the team – especially as we filmed a lot of the series during the pandemic. It’s our second time at the Royal Television Society Midlands Awards and our second win, what an amazing achievement”.
Building Britain’s Superhomes was first broadcast on Channel 4 earlier this year, and follows the exploits of maverick luxury home developer Guy Phoenix, who builds multi-million pound superhomes that are snapped up by extremely wealthy clients and celebrities.
The first two episodes were such a hit that a second series was commissioned by Channel 4 and is currently in production.
Mr Barnett added: “We’re already more than halfway through production and it already feels like another award-winning series – though wishing for three wins out of three feels like tempting fate too far.”
Gosh TV’s previous Royal Television Society winning series was the BBC’s River Walks series presented by former Coronation Street and Doctor Who actress, Shobna Gulati.
Every year the Royal Television Society celebrates the talents of the region's broadcast industry in a glittering red carpet ceremony.
Other winners this year included Midlands legend, Nick Owen, the team behind the lockdown sensation Staged, and special recognition for the casting director, Shaheen Baig, who worked on Peaky Blinders, The Gallows Pole and Man Like Mobeen, and the accomplished actor Richard Armitage, who is known for The Hobbit, Spooks, North & South, Strike Back and Obsession.
