KIDDERMINSTER Town Council has announced the appointment of its new chief executive and responsible financial officer.
Hugh Peacocke, who has a "wealth of local government experience," says he is "delighted" to take on the role.
Councillor Juliet Smith, who chaired the staffing committee which carried out the recruitment process said: “We were pleased that there was such a strong field of candidates who were interested in coming to work for the town council.
"Hugh has a wealth of local government experience, and I am delighted that we have been able to attract someone of his calibre to become our chief executive.”
Mr Peacocke said: “I am delighted to be offered the role. This is a very exciting time for the town council as we undertake the transformation project at the Town Hall.
"I am looking forward to working with the town council staff and town councillors, the district council, local organisations, businesses and those interested in the wellbeing and promotion of the town.”
