SINGER Robert Plant has endorsed a brand new book on painting birds by an award-winning Worcestershire artist.
Sarah Stokes, aged 57, who teaches art to thousands worldwide, is set to release her book 'Painting Birds, expressive watercolour techniques.'
The book is a guide to capturing the colours and textures of a variety of birds and features ten step-by-step projects accessible to beginners and more experienced students alike.
She will be signing copies of her book on Saturday, February 17, at Bewdley Brewery, Lax Lane, from 3pm to 6pm.
Sarah, from Shatterford, is a full-time animal artist working from studios on the grounds of Arley Estate in Worcestershire, where she is Artist In Residence.
Sarah teaches face-to-face and online classes to over 100,000 students worldwide with many of them joining her in Arley or overseas on workshops and retreats.
She is represented by Demontfort Fine Art for her original pieces, with work found in major retailers such as Amazon, Next and Wayfair as well as through Whitewall and Clarendon Fine Art Galleries, both in the U.K. and on board luxury cruise liners.
She undertakes commissions for private collectors, breweries, schools and musicians, including vocalist Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin who has endorsed her book as “inspirational and encouraging”.
Sarah said: "It's been a really exciting journey. It took about two years to write. A lot of painting and a lot of research.
"Robert Plant did a couple of lessons with me as well and he's been quite supportive of my work".
Copies of the book can be bought at the book signing event or can be pre-ordered via outlets such as Amazon, Waterstones and WH Smiths.
Sarah also has a limited number of signed copies that can be ordered from her website at www.sarahstokesartist.co.uk.
