A POPULAR discount retailer is set to open a brand new store at the former Debenhams building in Kidderminster.
B&M has signed a lease agreement for the site at Slingfield Mill, part of the Weaver's Wharf retail park, commercial property and investment company LCP has confirmed.
LCP purchased Weaver's Wharf last year, with the aim of attracting good-quality brands to the retail park and to boost jobs.
A spokesperson from LCP said: “We are Delighted to announce that a 30,000 sq ft B&M store will be joining M&S, Next, TK Maxx, Boots, New Look, and Matalan at M Park Weavers Wharf this spring.
"The store will be joining us on a 10-year lease and will be a fantastic addition to the retail offering already available.”
James Barker, manager of Kidderminster BID, said his team are “really excited.”
He said: “It’s going to add real value to the area. It’s going to do nothing but drive footfall”.
B&M already have two stores in Kidderminster, one in the Swan Centre, and another at Kidderminster Industrial Estate of Spennells Valley Road.
The former Debenhams shop closed for good back in 2020.
