A STOURPORT-ON-SEVERN farm shop has impressed the judges of a national awards.
Bells Farm Shop has made it through to the regional finals of the Farm Shop and Deli Show's 2024 Retailer Awards.
The shop on Chadwick Bank is down to the last seven in the small Farm Shop category, shortlisted from hundreds of entrants.
Bells was started by Betty and Robb Bells in 1970 when it offered pick your own strawberries.
It has grown hugely since Penny and Richard Colwill took over around 38 years ago and is now run by the couple's daughter Vicki Colwill, aged 57.
The shop offers pick your own all year round with an array of fruit and vegetables including apples, pears, plums, raspberries, pumpkins, cabbages, root veg, celeriac, rhubarb and many more items on offer.
Its sells its own apple juice, cider and honey and its deli offers pies, sausage rolls, samosas and offers an array of cheeses as well as local wines, beers, ciders, fudge and chocolate and freshly baked bread.
It also has a traditional butchery with its own sausages, bacon and burgers, as well as takeaway meals which can be cooked in the oven at home.
Vicki said: "We're delighted to make it through - all the businesses are at the top of their game so to be in the mix is great.
"We try to keep everything local - we offer really good quality, tasty food for good value."
Judging took place at Fortnum & Mason in London last November with the panel taking into consideration the achievements retailers have made in the independent sector.
The awards are championed by Fieldfare in partnership with The Grocer.
Judge Matt Whelan, MD of Fieldfare said: “Having the opportunity to see so many fantastic independent retailers, reviewing the many approaches they take to delivering a wonderful experience for their shoppers, was both a pleasure and challenge!”
The winners will be announced at the Farm Shop & Deli Show at the NEC in Birmingham on Monday April 29.
