POLICE have closed the busy A449 Kidderminster Road at Caunsall due to a two-car crash.
The road has been closed both ways between Windsor Holloway and Caunsall Road, according to police and traffic reports.
West Mercia Police posted on X about the incident – advising motorists to find alternative routes if possible.
The post read: “Road closure. Beechtree Lane, Cookley, with the A449 at the crossroads is currently closed. Please use alternative routes.”
Meanwhile, the latest traffic report for the area stated: “A449 Kidderminster Road both ways closed, queueing traffic due to accident between Windsor Holloway (Staffordshire) and the Cookley turn off (Caunsall). The road is now fully closed to assist.”
A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "We received a call around 3.40pm this afternoon (March 25) with a report of a collision on the A449 near Caunsall Bridge.
"Officers remain at the incident involving two vehicles."
A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of an RTC at the junction of Caunsall Road and the A449 near Cookley, Kidderminster, at around 3.40pm. Two ambulances were sent to the scene. More details will follow."
