ORGANISERS of a popular beer festival in Kidderminster have said that their 2024 event is currently at risk.
Wyre Forest Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), who organise the successful annual Kidderminster Beer and Cider Festival every November, are worried that they may not be able to run the 2024 event because not enough people have filled the key roles in the festival organisation.
CAMRA Chair, Rob Budworth said: “It is frustrating to be in this position because it is a great local event that brings hundreds of CAMRA members and the public together, it showcases real ale – and it generates a surplus to fund CAMRA's other activities.
"We have quite a few volunteers to organise and manage most of the required roles, and we get plenty of volunteers for the 3-day event itself.”
The Wyre Forest branch of CAMRA is currently looking for a festival organiser, a deputy organiser, a health and safety officer, a programme editor and a stewarding coordinator.
CAMRA are also looking for people to fill roles that could be performed remotely, including a marketing coordinator, programme typesetter and a catering coordinator.
Mr Budworth added: “If you are happy to step up to a role and/or would like to participate in this discussion, we are having a final Go/No-Go meeting on April 25th at 7:30pm at the Weavers in Park Lane.
"If you are unable to attend on the night, or if you want to get in touch beforehand to indicate your interest in one of the above roles (or another role) please email festival@wyreforest.camra.org.uk.”
