FOUR people made a lucky escape as a flooded ford swept a car away down a river.
The incident happened at Neen Savage near Cleobury Mortimer on Sunday morning (April 7).
Cleobury Mortimer Fire Station posted a photo of the car, which was found to be submerged 50 per cent in the River Rea.
In the post, they said: "Please don’t be alarmed all persons are out of the vehicle".
A spokesperson for Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service added: "It was a submerged car and all the occupants were out of the vehicle before we got there".
Reacting to the post, Facebook user Angi Gregory said: "That ford is so dangerous when flooded. "Glad the people were safe eventually".
Alison Dunn added: "Very lucky. The whirlpools down there are very dangerous".
