KIDDERMINSTER Town Council will begin its election count this morning.
All of the council's 18 seats are up for grabs as the town council goes all out every four years.
The Town Council was represented by 11 Conservative Councillors, 3 Independent Councillors, 2 Liberal Democrat Councillors,1 Labour Councillor and 1 Independent Health Concern Councillor as voters went to the polls.
Polling stations stayed open until 10pm on May 2 for people to cast up to three votes for councillors in their ward plus the Police and Crime Commissioner.
Ballot boxes are being counted at Wyre Forest Leisure Centre in Silverwoods Way, Kidderminster today (Friday May 3). Counting is expected to start around 11am.
Results will be declared throughout the day for each of the council’s six wards which are: Aggborough and Spennells; Broadwaters; Blakebrook and Habberley South; Foley Park and Hoobrook; Franche and Habberley North and Offmore and Comberton.
Counting will continue into the afternoon with final results expected at around 5pm.
There may be delays to declarations if results are close and recounts are required, meaning the final make-up of the council may not be known until well into the evening.
Once results for each area have been declared locally they will be sent to the overall returning officer for each election and a final result will be announced.
Conservative councillor David Ross, who is Leader of Kidderminster Town Council, said: "We have put the work in and I think residents recognise that.
"Obviously it's been a difficult time and Redditch has gone to Labour.
"I think we are looking okay in difficult times."
