A children's café in Stourport has received an outpouring of support after making the "very difficult" decision to close its doors this summer.

The Little Big Town, located on Bridge Street, is a role-play café that gives children the opportunity to dress up and explore a miniature village while parents sit and watch them play.

The business was opened in 2019 by Hayley Hughes and Clare Roden but has now made the sad announcement that it will close on Sunday, August 18.

In a statement, the owners of The Little Big Town said: "After careful consideration, we’ve come to the very difficult decision to close Little Big Town. This decision was not taken lightly and we understand that this may come as an enormous disappointment to many of you who have been loyal customers over the past five years.

"We want to express our sincere gratitude for your support. We’ve cherished the opportunity to serve each and every one of you and provide you with an enjoyable role-play experience.

"Our closing date will be Sunday 18th August 2024 but until then we will continue to provide our much-loved services to you, so please come and visit while you can."

Customers have already taken to social media to express their sadness and support for the business with many thanking the team for helping them create "special memories" with their children.

The community is being urged to make the most of the facility before it closes over the summer with the business still taking bookings for children's parties until the end of July.
