A smorgasbord of events including food festivals and fairs are taking place in and around the district to delight families.

The weather is set to brighten up over the Bank Holiday weekend, so people will want to head out in the sunshine.

Here's a selection of events this weekend in the Wyre Forest District.

 

Groove on The Green Beer & Music Festival

Groove on the Green Festival will be coming to Stourport Manor Hotel over the bank holiday weekend and promises to help create "unforgettable memories". 

From Friday, May 24 to Monday, May 27, visitors will be able to enjoy a variety of food and drinks, live entertainment and activities including face painting and mini golf..

Family fun weekend at Wyre Forest

As part of this year's National Nature Reserve Week, Forestry England is hosting a free family fun weekend at Wyre Forest.

On Saturday from 10am to 3pm, there will be a variety of free, drop-in activity sessions for all ages including forest arts and crafts, bug hunting, and a paracord bracelet workshop. All activities take place around the Visitor Centre.

On Saturday and Sunday people can 'Meet the Machines' where Natural England will be on-site with their tractor, mower, log splitter, flailer, and more.

There's also a self-led National Nature Reserve-themed orienteering course.

 

Stourport Food and Music Festival

Those looking for a summer festival vibe can visit Stourport Cricket Club on Sunday for the Stourport Food and Music Festival.

The event will feature a variety of street food vendors, and bars serving cocktails, ales and gin.

There will be kids' entertainment on the day and a range of musical acts including an ABBA tribute.

Dine 'N' Devour

LSD Promotions has announced the return of Dine 'N' Devour to Riverside Meadows and promises visitors an "unparalleled foodie experience".

The two-day festival will run from Saturday, May 25 between 10am and 7pm and Sunday, May 26 between 10am and 5pm.

The festival will offer a vibrant array of food vendors and artisan stalls featuring unique products including homemade gifts and a diverse range of drinks to leave visitors "spoiled for choice".

The event is free entry and aims to celebrate the vibrant culinary scene by bringing the finest street food vendors, artisan stalls and live entertainment.

 

Plant Fair

A popular plant fair is set to return to Arley Arboretum this Bank Holiday Monday.

Plant hunters will be able to check out a wide selection of specialist plant nurseries at the free event.

The plant fair will be open from 10am to 4pm on Bank Holiday Monday, May 27.
