Police have issued a warning after an attempted car theft on a street in Kidderminster. 

West Mercia Police said they received reports of an attempted car key burglary on Trimpley Drive and wanted to reassure residents that they are doing everything they can to trace those responsible. 

The incident happened at around 2.50am yesterday (Wednesday, May 29) when the back door of a property was forced open and keys to an Audi parked on the driveway were stolen. 

Luckily the offenders were unable to steal the vehicle due to security features in the car. 

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "We are investigating a reported car key burglary on Trimpley Drive, Kidderminster and we want to reassure residents we are doing everything we can to trace those responsible.
