Karaoke singers in Kidderminster can get a taste of stardom with a competition.

The much-anticipated 'Battle of the Boozers' launched by Pride pubs, The Cavalier and the Viaduct Tavern, promises to shine a spotlight on talent in the area.

The contest will see performers from across Kidderminster take to the stage at both venues, with the champion earning a spot on stage at the Cavalier for the Kidderminster Pride event on July 27.

Viaduct Tavern manager and Wyre Forest & Wychavon Pride spokesperson, Ashley Ellesmere said: "This is an exciting opportunity for both experienced and new singers to take the stage.

"I look forward to hearing some of the variety of talent we have in Kidderminster and further afield in this competition."

The first stage of the competition will be taking place at the Viaduct Tavern on Saturday, June 8.

Participants can expect a variety of activities throughout the day, starting with a Lego walking competition at 12pm, followed by Drag Bingo at 9pm. There will also be pub games, and of course, the Battle of the Boozers heat.

The top three will perform at the Viaduct Tavern in the Wyre Forest & Wychavon Pride on June 29.

Proceeds raised from the competition will be split between both Pride organisations.
