THOSE with a fear of snakes may be in for a fright if they visit a Kidderminster park after one was recently spotted there.
Kidderminster Town Council posted a photo of a "completely harmless" grass snake found at Broadwaters Mill Park.
The council said the sighting is a sign of a "healthy environment."
In a post on Facebook, Kidderminster Town Council said: "This beautiful grass snake was spotted enjoying the lush surroundings of Broadwaters Mill Park.
"These harmless reptiles are a great indicator of a healthy environment.
"If you’re visiting the park, keep an eye out near the water and in grassy areas.
"Remember, these beautiful creatures are shy and completely harmless.
"Let’s respect their habitat and enjoy watching them from a distance".
Reacting to the sighting, Matthew Roberts said: "Wow, that's a cracking specimen."
Marilyn McDonald added: "Sorry, I know they do no harm, but I would have froze on the spot".
