THE children’s splashpad at Brinton Park looks set to reopen tomorrow after another health and safety incident.

The play feature was closed yesterday (Sunday June 2) and remained out of action today (Monday) due to high chlorine levels as a result of cleaning.

Brinton Park Heritage Fund said on its Facebook page on Sunday that the facility had been closed for cleaning and a plea was issued to parents and carers to ensure little ones use the toilet before enjoying the facility or wear swim nappies if not toilet trained.

Today a further update was posted saying: “We are sorry that the splashpad remains closed today, Monday June 3.

“Our team has checked the water quality to make sure it is safe for your children to play in.

“Unfortunately, after yesterday's incident the chlorine levels remain too high.

“We hope to have the splashpad open again tomorrow Tuesday 4 June.

“Please help us keep the splashpad clean and safe (and open) by following the safety tips and advice.

“If your child is not toilet trained, they should be wearing a swim nappy.”

The facility was also closed briefly last month after a similar incident.
