A DOCTORS surgery rocked by the sudden death of a staff member has shared its thanks for an "outpouring of support."

The Church Street Surgery in Kidderminster announced the sad news on social media this morning (Tuesday June 4) and asked people to be patient while they "grieved for their beloved staff member."

The post led to scores of messages of support and concern.

Wyre Forest Health Partnership, which runs the surgery along with four other sites, has released a statement on its behalf thanking people for their support and patience after the loss of their colleague.

A spokesperson for Wyre Forest Health Partnership said: “We are immensely grateful for the outpouring of support from patients at Church Street Surgery and beyond following the passing of a staff member at our practice.

"We want to say thank you for your patience while we are operating at a slower pace than normal, and for allowing our Wyre Forest Health Partnership team the time and privacy to grieve at this difficult time.”

The surgery had said this morning on Facebook: "Due to a sudden bereavement of a staff member this morning responses to all requests are likely to be delayed.

"Please bear with us as we grieve for our beloved staff member #bekind."
