Temporary traffic lights have been set up near a supermarket in Kidderminster.

The two-way signals are being put in place on New Road near Aldi today (Thursday, June 6) and are expected to last for a day.

According to the Worcestershire County Council website, there is a valid permit in place until Friday, June 7.

The traffic lights are in place to add, improve or maintain the traffic signals in the area to ensure the safety of pedestrians and road users.

A statement on the Worcestershire County Council website said: "Works in this location are being carried out to add, improve, or maintain traffic signals.

"Signalling devices positioned at road intersections, pedestrian crossings and other locations control the flow of traffic and are vital for the safe operation of the road network."

The county council has also advised drivers that delays are likely whilst the work is being carried out.
