A MAN has been jailed after attacking two people with a broken glass bottle - which left one victim with visible scars.
Jake Shearer, committed the "vicious" and "unprovoked" attack in Kidderminster town centre in April 2021, with both victims requiring hospital treatment.
The 20-year-old, of St David’s Close in Kidderminster, admitted one count of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, and one count of wounding or inflicting grievous bodily harm.
Detective Constable Jessica Hill said the attack has "impacted hugely" on the lives of the victims.
On Friday, June 7, Shearer was sentenced to five and a half years for the first count and 21 months in prison to run concurrently, for the second count at Worcester Crown Court.
Following the sentencing, Detective Constable Hill, from Kidderminster CID, said: “This was a vicious unprovoked attack, which left one victim with visible scars and has impacted hugely on both their lives for the past three years.
“I would like to commend the victims for their bravery throughout and I hope this sentence can finally provide some closure so they can move forward.
“Incidents like this have no place in society and we won’t hesitate to apprehend and seek prosecution for those responsible.”
