The fire service is still investigating the cause of a "complex" house fire in Kidderminster.

In an update today (Monday, June 17), Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said they are still trying to find the cause of the blaze that involved multiple houses on Eddy Road.

The serious fire broke out in a caravan on Sunday, June 9 before spreading to four homes.

No one was injured during the incident but nearby homes were evacuated and residents were told to shut their windows and doors.

Eddy Road and part of Queen Street were cordoned off by West Mercia Police whilst emergency services dealt with the incident.

A spokesperson for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: "This was a complex and challenging incident involving multiple houses.

"A fire investigation is ongoing, and FI teams and colleagues from West Mercia Police are working closely to determine the cause of fire but there is no detail on that yet."

Five Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews attended the fire, as well as the aerial ladder platform from Worcester, the environmental protection unit from Tenbury Wells, the service drone from Ledbury and the incident support unit from Droitwich.

There were also West Midlands Fire Service crews from Brierley Hill and Stourbridge and a Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service crew from Kinver.

A GoFundMe has also been set up for one of the families affected by the fire to "help them get back on their feet".

The fundraiser has already managed to raise more than £1,000 in generous donations from the community.
