AN urban explorer has shared footage of the inside of a trashed sports centre which closed eight years ago.
A video posted by Youtuber Urban Exploring UK shows the current state of the derelict Stourport Sports Centre which has been hit by vandalism.
The once popular site, on Harold Davies Drive, was home to a swimming pool and several gymnasiums.
The video shows rooms inside the building "absolutely trashed," with graffiti covering the walls.
Speaking to his followers in the video, the Youtuber said: "It's seen better days hasn't it folks?
"Absolutely smashed to pieces this place is. It looks like someone's tried setting fire to this place, doesn't it? Why? Who knows?"
The Youtuber has explained that he never forces entry to sites, only explores sites that are accessible and only takes photos and videos.
When exploring the old swimming pool, he said: "I bet there will be people watching this video who used to swim here. I bet you had fond memories too.
"This would be quite sad for you really to see it in this state".
Stourport Sports Centre was closed in July 2016 to coincide with the opening of the £11.9m Wyre Forest Leisure Centre.
Back in November 2016, the former leisure centre and its associated car parks were sold for £500,000. Previously a plan for approved to demolish the site to make way for a new holiday caravan park.
Residents reacted to the footage of the "once loved part of town" on Facebook.
Nick Ganderton said: "My kids grew up learning to swim here was a great place in its hay day. Shame it’s been left looking like this today."
Jackie Sabel said: "Now that breaks your heart. Family memories abandoned and trashed. Such a great place".
Sara Williams said: "Such a shame had many a happy moment there."
Tracey Flowers added: "My kids learnt to swim there and I went to the gym. Such a sorry sight for a once loved part of the town".
