A brand-new escape room has opened its doors in Kidderminster town centre.
Kidderminster Escape Rooms, which is located on Worcester Street, had its official opening ceremony on Friday (June 28) with Mayor George Connelly cutting the ribbon.
The leisure attraction promises to bring something new and exciting to the town with owner Adam Buick calling the opening weekend "brilliant" and a "huge success".
Mr Buick, who owns Holt Heath-based Top Escape Rooms, said: "The opening was just brilliant. The mayor was amazing and he is a really lovely guy.
"It was great to be able to show people around the site and Kidderminster BID came down to show their support. The team have been amazing and with us every step of the way."
Mr Buick said he chose Kidderminster as Worcester Street provided a lot of opportunities for the business including with the work to demolish the former Woolworths site.
He said residents are engaged with their town and he wanted to help promote it and provide a boost for the area.
He added: "I feel like the town needs more leisure activities and I hope this escape room is just one of many other attractions that can be brought to the town.
"Our opening weekend was a huge success and there was only one slot free all weekend which was later filled.
"We hope to have at least three escape room games available by the end of August."
The first escape room game is called Mystic Temple and is available to play now. The team are also set to move School Daze from their Worcester site by the end of July with a Christmas game also on the cards for the autumn."
The escape room has already had more bookings than their other site over the opening weekend with Mr Buick hoping the new venture can be equally as successful.
In a post on Facebook, Kidderminster BID added: "Step into the thrill on Worcester Street as Kidderminster's first Top Escape Rooms opened their doors.
"The bid team and many others welcomed and were present for the opening and new addition to our town, just in time for a summer full of fun and adventure."
