A WOMAN has been taken to hospital with life threatening injuries after being hit by a van in Kidderminster this morning (Monday July 1).

The incident happened on Carpet Trades Way at around 10am.

Emergency medics rushed to the scene and found a pedestrian had been involved in a collision with a van.

The pedestrian, an elderly woman, was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital with serious injuries.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called to reports of an RTC on Carpet Trades Way in Kidderminster at 10am.

“An ambulance, MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic were sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews discovered a pedestrian and a van had been involved in a collision.

“The pedestrian, an elderly woman, was treated for serious injuries before being taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further treatment.”

West Mercia Police said the woman had suffered potentially life-threatening injuries.

A spokesperson for the force said: “We were called to a single vehicle collision at around 10am this morning (Monday 1 July), near to the Crossley retail park, Kidderminster.

“One woman has been taken to hospital with life threatening injuries. No arrests have currently been made.”
