Motorists are being warned to expect delays as highway repair and maintenance work takes place along a busy main road in Kidderminster.

According to the Worcestershire County Council website, there will be multi-way signals set up along the A449 Worcester Road near the Mare and Colt pub.

There is a valid permit in place from 9.30am until 12.30pm today (Tuesday, July 2).

The temporary lights are being set up to facilitate work on the traffic signals in the area.

A statement on the county council website said: "Works in this location are being carried out to add, improve, or maintain traffic signals.

"Signalling devices positioned at road intersections, pedestrian crossings and other locations control the flow of traffic and are vital for the safe operation of the road network."

Any footpaths along the road are set to stay open during the duration of the work with the county council reminding drivers that delays could be possible.
