A MAN who was arrested on suspicion of dangerous dog and explosives offences has been released on bail, police have confirmed.

The 51-year-old man was arrested after police found "substances" which could be used in the production of explosives during the search of a property on Stourport Road.

Two dogs that were seized from the property remain in the care of police.

Searches of the house have now concluded and police have left the scene today (Tuesday July 2).

They said: "enquiries will be ongoing for some time, including specialist analysis of the substances found at the house."

Searches had been ongoing at the property since Saturday evening following the discovery of substances that it is suspected could be used in the production of explosives.

Superintendent Melanie Paley, local policing lead for North Worcestershire, said: “I’d once again like to thank the community for their support and patience throughout this incident, particularly those residents who were evacuated from their homes over the weekend.

“This is an incredibly complex investigation and enquiries will be ongoing for some time, including specialist analysis of the substances found at the house.

“The safety of our communities is paramount and, as always, we’d urge anyone with any concerns or information to get in touch with us.”
