A WOMAN in her 80s has died after she was hit by a delivery van at a retail park.

The fatal crash happened at the Crossley Retail Park, on Carpet Trades Way in Kidderminster earlier this month.

A 22-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, has since been bailed pending further investigation.

Meanwhile, West Mercia Police have reissued their appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage.

A spokesperson for the force said: "We are continuing to appeal for witnesses as a woman sadly passed away following a collision in Kidderminster.

"The incident happened on the Crossley Retail Park, Carpet Trades Way on Monday 1 July, at around 10am.

"A Mercedes Sprinter delivery van, which was entering the depot, collided with a pedestrian. 

"A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

"A woman, in her 80s, was taken to Queen Elizabeth Birmingham Hospital but sadly passed away the following day.

"Officers would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision, or who has dash-cam footage of the collision.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service added: "We were called to reports of an RTC on Carpet Trades Way in Kidderminster at 10am.

"An ambulance, MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic were sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews discovered a pedestrian and a van had been involved in a collision.

"The pedestrian, an elderly woman, was treated for serious injuries before being taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further treatment".
