A PETITION has been launched calling for safety measures to be put in place on a killer road.
An action group is seeking changes to the A456 Bewdley Bypass following several crashes on the road.
Mum Libby Marshall set up a Facebook group and a petition as part of a campaign following a crash on the road on Sunday (July 7), which she says was the "last straw."
She said: "My child, who has special needs, travels to school every day on the A456.
"In the last few months alone, he has witnessed the aftermath of several crashes on this danger-fraught road. Some fatal.
"The fear that grips my heart every morning as he embarks on his journey is indescribable. This is a stark reality for many parents and residents in our community, stirring an urgent demand for action".
She said she is rallying for speed-deterrent measures to be put in place and has raised solutions including the introduction of speed cameras, a central reservation, or reducing the speed limit.
She added: "By implementing these measures, we are not merely striving for orderly traffic flow; we are fighting for the protection of our families, our children, and everyone who travels along the A456 Bewdley.
"We call on the local authorities to acknowledge the necessity for desperate changes to our beloved home roads.
"Our appeal is for the safety of our community, and we urge you to stand with us”.

The Shuttle recently reported the death of motorcyclist Adam Robson, aged 47, from Bewdley, who died after a crash on the road in June this year. We also reported on the death of motorcyclist Ryan Hastings, aged 32, from Kidderminster, who died in a crash in August last year.
Responding to the petition, Dan Morehead, county and district councillor for Bewdley and Rock, said: "I absolutely agree that the Bypass needs reviewing. I have been actively working with the police and Highways to ensure a full review of this road is included in the work I have done on Callow Hill.
"This review is due to be concluded in the coming weeks and my expectation is that it will include changes that will improve driver education through better signage, look at changes to the environment and road set up and also see an increase in enforcement".
