AN annual survey has revealed the best GP surgeries in the Wyre Forest area according to patients.

The GP Patient Survey, which was published by NHS England with Ipsos this month, shows what patients think of their local services.

The latest survey consisted of around 2.56 million questionnaires, which were sent out to patients aged 16 or over registered with GP practices in England between January and March this year.

A total of 699,790 patients completed and returned a questionnaire, resulting in a national response rate of 27.3 per cent.

Patients were asked to respond to a number of questions including how easy it is to get through to the GP practice by phone, and whether the reception and administrative team at the practice is helpful.

The results also show the percentage of people who described the overall experience of GP practices as good.

On our patch, Cleobury Mortimer Surgery ranks the highest for overall positive experience. Of the 111 surveys sent back, 97.5 per cent described the overall experience as good.

It also ranked the highest for finding the reception and administrative team helpful at 97.9 per cent.

Wolverley Surgery came close behind with an overall positive experience score of 96.9 per cent, and Chaddesley Surgery received a 95.5 per cent rating.

In Kidderminster, Northumberland House Surgery ranked the highest in overall experience at 87.4 per cent. Stourport Medical Centre received a score of 84.8 per cent, and Bewdley Medical Centre received a score of 65 per cent.

Nationally, 73.9 per cent of patients who took part in the survey had a good overall experience of their GP practice.
