A MOTORCYCLIST has suffered "potentially serious injuries" in a crash near Bewdley.

The collision, which also involved a car, is the second incident to happen on the A456 near to the Blackstone picnic site entrance this week.

The latest incident happened around 11.30am on Thursday morning (July 18).

A man, who was the motorcyclist, was treated for injuries before being rushed to hospital.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to reports of a collision between a car and a motorbike near to the junction of the A456 and B4195 at 11.31am, one ambulance attended the scene.

"On arrival we discovered one patient, a man, who was the motorcyclist.

"He was treated for potentially serious injuries before being taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital".

A spokesperson for West Mercia Police said: "Following a call around 11.40am this morning (18 July) officers attended a collision on the A456 near to the Blackstone entrance.

"The collision involved a car and motorbike.

"The motorbike rider has been taken to hospital with injuries".

On Wednesday (July 17), West Mercia Police responded to a three-car crash in the morning by the entrance of the Blackstone picnic site.

Residents in the area had reported heavy traffic and congestion along the Bewdley Bypass following the incident as emergency services attended the scene.

Officers said no injuries were reported in the collision and no arrests have been made following the incident.
