A MAN has died after suffering a medical emergency in Kidderminster town centre.

An air ambulance and two ambulances were sent to the town centre on Thursday afternoon (July 18).

West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed they were called to Vicar Street, where they found a man receiving life support from bystanders, who used a defibrillator.

Ambulance crews then carried out advanced life support, but the man could not be saved and he was confirmed dead at the scene.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called to a medical emergency on Vicar Street in Kidderminster at around 12.30pm.

"Two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford were sent to the scene where, on arrival, crews found a man receiving basic life support from bystanders who had also used a defibrillator.

"Ambulance staff immediately took over to administer advanced life support but sadly, despite everyone’s best efforts, he could not be saved and was confirmed dead at the scene".
