A road in Kidderminster is set to be closed until the end of the week to replace an electricity cable.

Broad Street will be closed from today (Monday, July 23) from its junction with Churchfields to its junction with Queen Street.

According to the Worcestershire County Council website, the closure is in place to facilitate work by National Grid to replace an electricity cable.

There is a valid permit in place until Friday (July 26) at 4pm.

According to the public notice, National Grid will permit access for residents to any land or premises along the road where there is no other form of access and to allow the work to be undertaken.

There is a diversion in place via Queen Street, Larkhill, A451 Stourbridge Road, A451 Horse Fair and vice versa.

A walkway for pedestrians is set to be provided during the work.
