A landlady from Bewdley has been recognised for 20 years in a row in the Good Beer Guide.

Denise Eaton from the Old Waggon and Horses in Wribbenhall received the prestigious award from Wyre Forest Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) a couple of weeks ago.

The Wyre Forest branch of the organisation, which promotes good-quality real ale and pubs across Bewdley, Stourport, Kidderminster and the surrounding areas, presented Ms Eaton with the certificate of special recognition.

The award came after 20 consecutive years with the Old Waggon and Horses in the Good Beer Guide.

Chair of Wyre Forest CAMRA Rob Budworth said: "Denise has achieved something remarkable. 20 consecutive years with the Old Waggon and Horses at Wribbenhall in the Good Beer Guide.

"In the Wyre Forest area, we have over 100 pubs serving real ale and only a small number are recognised for their beer quality in the Good Beer Guide each year.

"To be in the guide 20 years in a row is absolutely amazing and is a fantastic testament to Denise and her staff."

Ms Eaton, who celebrated 35 years at the helm of the pub in 2022, said: "This is recognition for the hard work and effort in keeping good beer over the years.

"Prices of beer unfortunately have had to increase, so it is important to serve a decent product.

"I have some loyal regulars who let me know that my beers are right."

The Good Beer Guide is the UK's best-selling beer and pub guide and it continues to represent the best in the brewing and hospitality industry.

CAMRA said that the guide is the best for pubgoers interested in being served a good pint of real ale as well as those who want to find a local pub near them.
