HUNDREDS of people partied at a pub on the weekend for the official Kidderminster Pride event.

The Cavalier on Tennyson Way hosted the pride event, which featured drag acts, live music and food vendors on Saturday (July 27).

The free fun day, which was first held at the pub last year, is dedicated to celebrating equality, freedom and LGBTQ+ rights.

Organiser Ben Roberts, who has been running the Cavalier for three years, said that around 800 people attended this year's event.

He said: "It was absolutely brilliant. It was a really nice atmosphere and it was beautiful to see everybody together.

"It was very much 'how can we bring people in the community together and make them feel all a part of one big family".

Performers at the event included Philli Mi Up, Miss Sundi, Connie Gested, Bella Lipa, Ella Cabrera-Quinn, Tru Cher, Paris Style and Crip Ladywood.

Mr Roberts has thanked the community and all the volunteers for their help to make the day a success.

Those who attended took to social media to praise the event and the organisers, with some already looking forward to next year's event.

John Beckingham said: "It was a really fun day out. I can't wait for next year.

"Thank you to the team for organising and The Cavalier for hosting".

Sorrel Stokes said it was "such a brilliant turnout".

Ellen Murrihy Harvey said that the atmosphere at the event was "something else".

Claire Wright said: "It was a really good day, can't wait for next year".

Jackie Phillips said it was a "great day and night".

Mandy Jane added: "Congratulations team Cavalier".
