FOOTBALL at a town nursery is proving extremely popular.

The competitive season may not yet have started but youngsters from Little Trinity Nursery are still looking forward to their weekly sessions.

It is provided by Kidderminster Harriers Football Club with a growing number of children eager to take part.

As part of the nursery’s early years physical development programme all children can take part in a range of activities including swimming, ballet and PE.

Nursery manager Gaynor Carter said: “We introduced football about 10 years ago with the help of Kidderminster Harriers Football Club and it has continued to flourish and become extremely popular with all our children and their parents who love to see their little ones learn how to kick and chase a football.

“It’s a fantastic way to keep fit and to make the best of the great outdoors or in the indoor gym when wet.

"Playing football with Kidderminster Harriers is embedded into the nursery’s extracurricular sports activities and one of the many physical undertakings we encourage with ball skills aiding the children’s physical development.”

Becky Butler, of Kidderminster Harriers Community Trust, said: “I always have a great time coaching the children football from Little Trinity Nursery.

“The sessions include chasing games, learning penguin feet with the football and knocking over the cones.

“They always have a smile on their faces.”

The Kidderminster nursery is based in Birmingham Road.
