A major supermarket retailer officially opened its new store in Bewdley last week following a rebrand of the previous shop.

The new Morrisons Daily store opened its doors to customers on Friday (July 26) after taking over the former McColls convenience store on Load Street.

The McColls chain fell into administration in May 2022 which plunged the future of its 1,160 shops and 16,000 staff into doubt.

Morrisons later bought all of McColl's 132 UK stores in a rescue deal and has been gradually turning the majority of them into Morrisons Daily shops.

The store on Load Street briefly closed on Monday, July 15 at 12pm so the rebranding work could take place before reopening later that week.

Morrisons said the new store will offer a mix of the retailer's own brand products as well as branded family favourites.

The new store has had a "complete redesign" internally and externally to create a "bright" and "modern" feel to the store.

In a statement following the reopening, a spokesperson for Morrisons said: "The new Morrisons Daily convenience store on Load Street in Bewdley will offer customers a carefully tailored mix of Morrisons own brand products alongside branded favourites.

"As well as new ranges, the store has received a complete redesign internally and externally incorporating Morrisons' bright, modern branding. We hope customers will love it."
