A plan to demolish a former ambulance station in Kidderminster and build eight new family homes has been submitted.
The proposal, which was submitted to Wyre Forest District Council on June 18, would see eight detached and semi-detached private residencies built on Stourport Road.
The properties will be complete with off-road parking, detached garages and landscaped gardens.
There will be two two-bed houses and six three-bed houses with two of the properties set to be bungalows according to the plans.
The site on Stourport Road was previously home to Kidderminster Ambulance Station which closed back in 2019 before later being put on the market.
Before its closure, West Midlands Ambulance Service said the number of staff asking to transfer to other stations had made it "inefficient" to keep it open.
Concerns were raised at the time about the closure's impact on 999 response times in Kidderminster.
Permission in principal was granted in 2020 for a housing led development of up to eight units on the site.
In the design and access statement, the developer said: "Our vision is to create homes and environments driven by quality.
"We will secure great sites, develop and sell great homes to satisfy a lifestyle people desire in their homes.
"We will deliver this through a range of buildings and locations, be it urban, countryside or city centre locations, through enhancement of old buildings, on redundant or surplus land, to create spaces that work on a personal level and a community level and also by considering the bigger picture in the world today."
The plans have received a mixed response by residents with some happy that the land is going to be developed whilst others have raised concerns over increased traffic in the area.
One supporter said: "I feel that the time is right for the land to be developed as it has become a blot on the landscape. I wish the landowners every success with their application."
One objector said: "Stourport Road is already extremely congested. We do not need more traffic."
