Police have been addressing parking concerns around Cleobury Mortimer and Highley after seizing a number of vehicles.

Highley and Cleobury Mortimer SNT said cars had been seized following anti-social behaviour incidents and "inconsiderate" parking in the area.

Officers said they would be revisiting Cleobury Mortimer with external partners to address further concerns.

A spokesperson for Highley and Cleobury Mortimer SNT said: "Inconsiderate or illegal parking can put pedestrians and other road users in danger. It can also create an obstruction for emergency vehicles.

"While some enforcement activity is carried out jointly with partners, relevant local authorities employ parking enforcement officers to assist with these issues.

"But often problems can be resolved through raising awareness of the impact or consequences or other practical measures."

To help address the concerns, police said they have been talking to drivers and advising them of the law, seizing untaxed vehicles, liaising with council parking enforcement officers over local concerns, issuing penalty charge notices to persistent offenders and working with partners to find alternative off-road parking opportunities including near schools.
