KIDDERMINSTER Town Council has shared an update on work to transform the town hall into a new arts hub.

The multi-million-pound project started in earnest earlier this year after delays were caused to work due to rising costs.

The redevelopment will see a complete refurbishment of the café area, restoration work in the music hall, upgrades to the mechanical and electrical services, the refurbishment of ground floor toilet areas, and the restoration of the King Charles suite.

The project team will also be restoring and cleaning the heritage features outside of the town hall.

The redevelopment is being delivered by Kidderminster Town Council, who own the building, in partnership with Wyre Forest District Council and North Worcestershire Economic Development and Regeneration (NWedR).

It's one of three major projects in the town being funded through the Government’s Levelling Up Fund.

£17.9 million has been allocated across the schemes, with the Town Hall securing £8.5 million to support its sensitive regeneration.
