A mum-of-two is set to open a brand-new community café in Kidderminster.
Becky Concannon, aged 43, said she is "overwhelmed" by the support she has had since announcing plans for The Bungalow Café.
The business will be located on Puxton Lane near Jelleyman's Mill and is set to offer a variety of tasty treats as well as wellbeing sessions for visitors.
Ms Concannon said: "It has always been a dream of mine to run my own café. In a weird twist of fate, I went with my husband to view some office space for his business.
"We got a guided tour around the site and it was mentioned that the old bungalow, which was the former site manager's house, used to be a café and it would be great to open it back up.
"My husband knew straight away what I was thinking and I officially got the keys to the building this week."
The site is in the "perfect" location with beautiful views of the river and Jelleyman's Mill.
The aim is to create the café around the needs and interests of residents with Ms Concannon now busy transforming the blank canvas into a welcoming space for the whole community to enjoy.
She also hopes there will be volunteering and part-time job opportunities for those interested in the hospitality sector and looking for experience.
She said: "I really want to work with the community to create a shop that works for them. This includes getting feedback on the types of activities and groups they might like to see at the café.
"I've already had some suggestions for craft workshops, mum catch-up groups, dementia groups and creating a child-friendly space.
"The café is located in a really beautiful place with really special history so I hope it is somewhere that people can relax in an inclusive space. I want it to help bring the community together."
Ms Concannon is set to host an open day tomorrow (Saturday, August 10) as part of JelleyFest at Jelleyman's Mill.
The event runs from 10am until 5pm with people being invited to give feedback and share their ideas for the café via a survey.
The café has already received an incredible amount of support online with Ms Concannon being grateful for all the positive messages.
She added: "I was a bit worried about announcing the café at first but the messages of support have just been overwhelming.
"I am so excited to open the café, it is something that I am really passionate about and it is great to hear so many people get onboard with the project.
"We've already had a lot of suggestions for the cakes people want to see. Lemon drizzle cake is definitely going to have to be on the menu."
Ms Concannon hopes to open the café as soon as possible with the community invited to follow The Bungalow Café Facebook page.
