Four people and a child have been injured following a two-car collision near the safari park yesterday.

West Mercia Police said they were called to a two-vehicle collision on the A456 near West Midlands Safari Park at around 2.20pm yesterday (Sunday, August 18). 

Two Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews from Wyre Forest and Droitwich also attended the scene. 

One casualty was extracted from a vehicle by fire service personnel and handed over to the care of West Midlands Ambulance Service along with four other casualties. 

The fire service said both vehicles were made safe with small tools and cutting gear used. 

The injuries are not believed to be life-threatening and no arrests were made. 

A spokesperson for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: "Two Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews were called at 2.21pm on August 18 to an RTC in Spring Grove, Bewdley.

"The incident involved two vehicles, one of which was in a ditch. One casualty was extricated from a vehicle by fire service personnel and handed over to the care of the ambulance service.

"Both vehicles were made safe with small tools and cutting gear used. Police also attended. The incident was marked as pending closure at 3.49pm. 

A spokesperson for West Midlands Ambulance Service added: "We were called at 2.23pm on Sunday to a road traffic collision involving two cars on the A456 Kidderminster Road in Bewdley.

"Three ambulances and a paramedic officer attended the scene. Upon arrival, we found five patients. Firstly, two men who were the driver of and passenger in the first car. They were assessed and had sustained potentially serious injuries.

"They received treatment at the scene before being conveyed to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for further assessment.

"A man, woman and child from the second car were assessed and had sustained injuries not believed to be serious.

"They received self-care advice before being discharged at the scene."
