An emergency road closure in Kidderminster has been causing travel chaos for residents.
Oxford Street in the town centre has been closed this week whilst Cadent Gas carry out emergency repairs.
According to the Worcestershire County Council website, there is a valid permit in place until Friday (August 23), but the work might be finished earlier or later depending on the severity of the problem.
A description of the work said: "Cadent are carrying out emergency gas repair works.
"These repairs can take time to resolve, but this is to ensure that we continue to provide the safest and most reliable service to our customers."
Delays are likely whilst the work is being completed with residents already reporting disruption in the town centre.
The footway will remain open throughout the duration of the work but drivers should allow more time for travelling into the town centre.
