BODENHAM Arboretum will be welcoming back green-fingered guests to their eagerly awaited summer plant fair.

The plant fair, which is free to enter is on Saturday, August 31, from 10am to 4pm.

Organiser Martin Blow said: “If your garden is looking a little tired after the summer, then this is a great opportunity to find some late blooming plants to cheer it up.

"Plant Hunters’ Fairs are a great place to pick up some colourful plants to extend the flowering season well into the Autumn or even to get ahead for next year with bulbs and plants to get planted now for next year’s colour.

“The plant fair is completely free to enter so you can just pop along and browse the plant stalls from a great range of specialist plant nurseries attending.

“So, whether it’s alpines, shrubs, bee-friendly perennials, herbs, wildflowers, bulbs, plants for shade or foliage plants you are sure to find something to fill those gaps and create a blooming brilliant garden.

"There will also be a wonderful range of garden accessories available.

“If you need some advice to help you choose then there are nursery folk on hand to help, each an expert in their field with years of knowledge and experience, and full of helpful tips, so why not pop in and pick up some wonderful traditionally grown plants from these family run nurseries”.

The lakeside restaurant will be open serving hot and cold drinks, lunches and snacks using produce from the arboretum’s own farm. For those who want to explore the 156-acre arboretum, there is a separate charge if you choose to enter.
