A hockey club in Stourport have raised vital funds for KEMP Hospice after taking on a 24-hour cycling challenge.

Members of Stourport Hockey Club put down their hockey sticks and picked up their bikes last weekend to help raise more than £2,000 for KEMP Hospice.

The team included Tim Wood, Andy Cavendish, Richard Collins, Benny Roberts, Jeremy Sobey and club chairman Martin Tucker who all took part in Wyre Forest CRC's 24-hour cycling challenge.

The group clocked up more than 500 miles between them and called the fundraiser a "fantastic achievement".

Club chairman Martin Tucker said: "We really enjoyed the challenge and clocking up over 500 miles between us was a fantastic achievement.

"More importantly, the event raised much-needed funds for KEMP Hospice which does such great work in our community."

The sponsored ride, which took place on Saturday (August 24) and Sunday (August 25), allowed for single or up to six riders per team of cyclists and saw the group complete as many circuits as they could at the Stourport Sports Club track.

The six hockey riders completed their laps wearing club shirts.
