The emergency services rushed to an address in Kidderminster last night following reports of a fire. 

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service were called to Comberton Road at around 8.31pm on Thursday (August 29) to reports of a carbon monoxide alarm and smoke coming from a property. 

Two crews, including one from Wyre Forest and one from Bromsgrove, were sent to the scene where they found a pan had been left on the hob in the kitchen. 

The fire service said the property was heavily smoke-logged but everyone was accounted for and there were no injuries. 

A spokesperson for Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service said: "Two Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service crews – one each from Wyre Forest and Bromsgrove – plus a Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service crew from Kinver were called at 8.31pm on August 29 to a carbon monoxide alarm and smoke issuing at a property in Comberton Road, Kidderminster.

"A pan had been left on the hob in the kitchen and the property was heavily smoke-logged. All persons were accounted for.

"Two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used one hose reel to extinguish the fire and the property was ventilated. Gas and electrics were isolated. There were no casualties. Police also attended. The incident was marked as pending closure at 10.40pm."
